The 16th Annual Spirit of Anne Frank Awards 2012
Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are community leaders and have been accepted to a four-year college. The winning applicant receives a $10,000 scholarship. The award recognizes students who exemplify the commitment, ideals and courage that Anne Frank represents today. Letter of recommendation and personal essay are required.

The York Traditions Bank Woman’s Leadership Traditions Scholarship Program
Four $500 scholarships will be awarded to a female student in York County. Applicants are evaluated competitively on the strength of their academic records, as well as leadership experience in an organized school-sponsored or community service activity. OP Loftbed $500 Scholarship Award
This scholarship is not a traditional scholarship. It is not based on GPA, community involvement, and writing skill. The scholarship is awarded to a student whom the committee feels provided the most interesting answers to a set of questions. It is based on the creativity of the applicant. P.V. King Memorial Scholarship (sponsored by Knights of Columbus, Council #8891)
This $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is a member of St, John the Baptist Parish (in New Freedom). The scholarship will be awarded based on a number of factors, to include academic grades, school activities, community and church activities, and an essay. An official transcript is required. Junior Achievement Joe Francomano Scholarship
This $5000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who has completed JA Company Program or JA Economics. The student must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, exemplify academic achievement and leadership skills. A one-page essay is required. Applications are available in the Career Room.

The Garden Club of York Scholarship Program
A $1000 scholarship is available for students who plan college courses only in the following subjects: Biology, Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Architecture, Conservation, Forestry, Botany, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Environmental Control, City Planning, Land Management, and/or allied subjects, Wildlife Sciences, Environmental Control (rural/urban) Planning. Applicants must be Pennsylvania residents with high academic standing and financial need. Official transcript, references, financial need information, and personal letter are required. Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers Foundation Scholarship
This program provides up to five $1,000 renewable scholarships to children of PACB member institutions’ employees. Community involvement, scholarship achievement and financial information are considered. Essay and official transcripts are required. KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program
Qualified applicants must be seniors with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and plan to attend a post-secondary institution (within their legal state of residence) pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Proton OnSite Scholarship Program
Proton OnSite will award undergraduate scholarships of up to $100,000 total for up to four years. Applicants must be U.S. citizen enrolled in a U.S. High School, have a minimum GPA of 3.6/4.0 on a weighted scale in high school, have a financial need, and intend to pursue further education in the field of science and technology. National Co-op Scholarship Program
To quality for this award, students must be accepted at one or more of the NCCE Partner Institutions. AFA Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness College Scholarship

This foundation provides financial assistance to high school seniors who exhibit excellence in a well rounded educational and extracurricular program. Clarence Schock Foundation Scholarship
This award is for Millersville University freshman and is based on scholastic record, financial need as determined by the FSASA and personal attributes. You must be a resident of Adams, Berks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, or York counties. Applications are available in the Career Room.

PSECU Scholarship (Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union)
To qualify for one of six $6,000 PSECU scholarships, the student must be a PSECU member by December 30, 2011, graduating senior, and plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university. Applications are available in the Career Room.

Merit Shop Construction Scholarship Program
Eight to twelve scholarships will be awarded ranging between $1500 and $3000 per scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled into a trade school, college or university program that is directly related to a construction career. Applications are available in the Career Room.

Advantage Physical Therapy Scholarship
One scholarship will be awarded to a York County high school senior that will be attending a Physical Therapy or Physical Therapy Assistant program. Junior League of York “Youth Volunteer Award”

Altrusa International, Inc. of Harrisburg
Eligible candidates must reside in Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry or York Counties and plan to be enrolled at a college, university, vocational or technical school upon graduation for high school. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong academic performance, financial need, and dedication to community involvement and service. Brief interviews will be conducted with scholarship finalists in early April. The Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship
This program provides four-year scholarships to two high school seniors each year. Each award consists of the value of one semester of tuition at the State System of Higher Education for each of four years. The applicant must be a legal resident of Pennsylvania, attend a Pennsylvania college, university or career school, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA, community involvement, leadership qualities, extracurricular activities and financial need. Ann and Dominick Grande Initiative Scholarship
This scholarship is a one-time award of $500 for a graduating York Catholic senior. The goal of the scholarship is to honor a student who showed great effort in the classroom. Applicants must be of Catholic character, be active in the school community and require financial assistance. Excellent SAT scores and grade point average are not required but applicants must have worked to their potential. Official transcript and personal essay are required. Stephen Leiser Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in the York Catholic science teacher’s memory and is open to a graduating senior who has taken some B track classes at York Catholic and is interested in furthering his/her education. Applications can be obtained from Mrs. Castellanos in the Career Room.

Ray Tyo St. Ferdinand Scholarship (Diocese of Harrisburg)
Seniors who are interested in being nominated for this scholarship may obtain an application from Mrs. Castellanos in the Career Room. This scholarship is valued at approximately $8000 (approximately $1000 per semester) and is awarded to a male or female student from each diocesan high school within the Diocese of Harrisburg. The requirements are as follows: 1) be a practicing Catholic manifesting good moral character, 2) be a student in good standing, 3) be accepted for study at a Catholic instituting of higher learning, 4) have a need for financial assistance and 5) have the recommendation of the student’s high school administrator.

United Steelworker Hugh Carcella Scholarship
Six, four year scholarships, each with a total value of $4000.00 ($1000.00 per year) will be awarded in June, 2012. Applicants must be a son or daughter of a member of a United Steelworker of America, District 10 (Eastern) local union participating in the scholarship program. Applications may be obtained, upon request, from participating local unions.

York Chapter of Credit Unions Scholarship Program
This program provides two $500 scholarships. The applicant must be a credit union member by date of application and plans to attend an institution of higher learning (accredited two or four year degree program). Adams Electric Cooperative Scholarships
A $750 scholarship will be awarded to a student of an Adams Electric Cooperative member (currently receiving electric services from Adams Electric). The student must have 2.5 or higher GPA, show commitment to community and show financial need. Statewide scholarships are also available. Applications are available in the Career Room.

The Christa McAuliffe Scholarship Fund of York County
This fund will award several non-renewable scholarships ranging from $1000 to $3000 to York County students who are accepted in a full-time baccalaureate program leading toward elementary or secondary teaching certification in Pennsylvania. Applicants should have a good scholastic standing, have demonstrated an interest in the teaching profession and have a need for financial assistance. The application requires a personal letter, three letters of recommendation, and an official transcript. Applications are available in the Career Room.

West Chester University Alumni Association of York County Scholarship
Each scholarship is for $1000. Applicants must have been accepted at West Chester University for the 2012 fall semester. Charles Kidder Scholarship (sponsored by the Hanover Area Management Association)
The Hanover Area Management Association will award one $1,500 scholarship to a student with the winning essay. The essay topic is “Select a technological innovation from the past decade and discuss its effects on businesses today.” Contestants must be high school seniors planning to enroll in post-secondary full-time study. This scholarship is open to students associated by employment or by family employment with a member company of the Hanover Area Management Association. Epilepsy Foundation of Western/Central Pennsylvania Scholarship Program
This scholarship program is for students who have epilepsy or seizure disorder; this must be confirmed by a statement from the applicant’s physician, be a high school senior accepted to a post-secondary academic or vocational program and be a legal resident of Western/Central Pennsylvania. Six $1000 scholarships will be awarded. Applications are available in the Career Room.

Careers in Teaching (sponsored by the York County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees)
Applicants must be Pennsylvania residents, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and must be accepted to college in a certified teacher preparation curriculum. Two individuals shall each receive a $1000 one-year non-renewable grant. Applicants must live within the geographical limits of the Dover Area School District. 16th Annual Signet Classics Student Scholarship Essay Contest

The Jesse P. Brenneman & Mary Brenneman Fund Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded to needy and deserving applicants who are under 21 years of age and residents of York County, in any recognized university, college, four-year technical school in the United States. An oral interview is required. This is a renewable scholarship if the student maintains the highest scholastic standard of which he is capable and maintains high standards of character in every way. Saint Francis University Franciscan Scholarship
Applicants must apply and be accepted to Saint Francis University. This scholarship is awarded to all graduates of Catholic high schools, is worth $1,500 per year for up to four years of undergraduate study and is awarded in addition to any other merit or need based awards a student may receive.
The Pennsylvania New Economy Technology Scholarship Program (PHEAA)
This program provides scholarships for Pennsylvania students who are pursuing higher education and training in science and technology fields. Two different scholarships, the SciTech Scholarship and the Technology Scholarship are awarded through this program. Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative average during post-secondary study. Marine Option Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship Program
The purpose of this four-year scholarship program is to educate and train highly qualified young men and women for careers as commissioned officers in the United States Marine Corps. The student must be admitted to an approved NROTC college or university, 17 years of age and be physically qualified by Marine Corps standards. More information available in the Career Room.
