Martin and Mary Ann (Snyder, Class of '60) Whelan presented George E. Andrews, Jr., Principal of YCHS, with an idea for a mentoring partnership based on a model used in the Catholic schools in the Chicago area. The YCHS Mentoring Program is now in place with four students enrolled in the mentorship program. We invite you to be a part of this tremendous opportunity to participate.

An Active Sponsor is an individual who believes in the goals of YCMP, makes a four year financial commitment, and is willing to be a mentor to a young person.

A Personal Sponsor believes in the goals of YCMP but is unable to meet the financial commitment for tuition yet is willing to give time to mentor and develop a personal relationship with a student. The Personal Sponsor has all the requirements of an Active Sponsor with the exception of paying the tuition.

An individual who believes in the goals of YCMP, but is unable to commit to a personal relationship with a student. The Anonymous Sponsor makes a four year commitment to pay for a student's tuition. The sponsor contact is only with the YCMP staff and not with the student or the student's family.
